The NBA management committee, staffs and volunteers like to wish everyone Happy New year.
After the festivities, we embark on a new year with new hopes, with a dedicated team of management, staffs and volunteers and with the help of friends and supporters we will continue to support and help the community with the difficulties it faces on daily bases and to deliver the services of education, training, activities, health and well-being and advice and guidance that community needs In these difficult economic times, we need to work even harder to help and support each other and show that the human spirit is far stronger than money and material possessions. A health society needs these things and so much more.
Register as a member of the NBA and benefit from access to passport signing facilities, advice, classes & training, newsletters and updates, opportunities to elect people running the NBA, as well as giving your voice, together we are stronger.

NBA Facility Supervisor
24 hours per week plus overtime
Pay: £9.00 per hour We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to work in the community. The purpose of this role is to help running of the day to day of NBA (click for more details)
NBA celebrated the International Mother Language day with the Bangla Supplementary school. Language movement is a historical part of Bangladesh. The 21st of February is known as International Mother Language Day – Ekushey February.
with a host of guest and dignitaries NBA celebrated the Independence Day with the Bangla class. Independence Day in Bangladesh is a public holiday every 26 March that commemorates Bangladesh’s separation from Pakistan to become an independent country.
NBA took 50 people to Turkey. Although it was a long journey. The beach views were amazing and the children loved using all different water slides in the hotel. The trip was a success as everyone looked after each other right from the start till the very end of the journey. .
Members of the community have requested to go on a shopping trip as some are as not fortunate as others. They have requested to go to Whitechapel in London so they are able to buy Eid gifts and Eid clothes. This we struggle to fill the seats for the coach so maybe we will give it a miss for 2019.
November 2018: Helping the Food-bank:
people of the community were very generous and kindly donated tinned food, hand wash, washing powder, pasta and much more to the NBA Gateway Centre. All this was dropped off by kind volunteers at the Northampton Food Bank in sheep Street.
NBA had their annual Family iftaar and ladies and children only Iftaar gathering. It was nice for the community to get together and break the fast at the same time and sharing iftar with wider community.
Thanks to your donations and support, NBA managed to raise an amazing £751.52p for the fundraising we did for the people of Rohingya. We hope you all enjoyed it and hope to see you again next year.
We did our annual Eid Party and summer fair with over 100 people attending from wider community. We had music, food, BBQ, ice cream van and much more. The weather was nice and everyone was able to chill, relax and enjoy the moment.
NBA arrange the Bangladeshi High Commission (BHC) to visit Northampton on 7th October 2018 to help and advice people of Northamptonshire on various matters as Bangladeshi passport, No visa required to travel to Bangladesh and power of attorney for the Bangaldeshi for dispute they may have in Bangladesh, BHC was able to deal with over 100 inquiries.
NBA has been awarded a Special recognition award for working really hard in the community. NBA has been recognised for promoting heritage and culture and retaining the language of Bangla. The recognition of achievement was given by the world wide international TV channel NTV.
We are extremely proud to have received this award and we would like to thank NTV channel for giving us the recognition for we do here at the Northampton Bangladeshi and wider community.
A number of awards were handed out to young people and community members excellent achievement in education and hard work for the community. Also NBA would like to thank the Bangla school teachers for doing a fantastic job with the children of the Bangla Class. The children recited poems and showed the meaning of Bijoy Debosh (victory day)
